# Understanding Turns and Credits

> Learn how daily turns and credits work in LOREKEEPER, including reset times, plan limits, and how to convert credits into extra rounds.

## Two Currencies, One Adventure

LOREKEEPER uses two systems to manage your playtime: **daily turns** and **credits**. Understanding both will help you get the most out of every session.

## Daily Turns

A **turn** is one complete interaction with the AI DM. You describe an action, the AI responds -- that is one turn.

Each plan comes with a daily turn allowance:

| Plan       | Daily Turns |
| ---------- | ----------- |
| Free       | 20          |
| Aventurero | 30          |
| Heroe      | 60          |
| Leyenda    | Unlimited   |

Daily turns **reset at midnight UTC** every day. Unused turns do not carry over.

<Tip>Not sure what time midnight UTC is for you? A quick search for "midnight UTC in my timezone" will sort it out.</Tip>

## What Happens When You Run Out

When your daily turns are depleted, you will hit a soft wall. You have two options:

1. **Come back tomorrow** -- your turns reset at midnight UTC.
2. **Use credits** to convert into extra rounds and keep playing.

## Credits

Credits are a secondary currency used for extras across the platform. You receive **10 welcome credits** when you sign up, and paid plans include a monthly credit allowance.

Credits can be spent on:

* **Extra campaign rounds** (1 credit = 3 rounds)
* AI-generated images
* Additional characters and campaigns
* Custom worlds

## Earning Free Credits

You do not always have to buy credits. There are a few ways to earn them for free:

* **Referral program:** Invite a friend and you both get 5 credits.
* **Discord bonus:** Join the LOREKEEPER Discord and link your account for 5 extra credits.

<Note>Credits purchased through packs never expire. Monthly credits from your subscription are refreshed each billing cycle.</Note>
