How Quests Are Generated
Unlike traditional RPGs with pre-written quest lists, LOREKEEPER generates quests dynamically from your story context. The AI DM notices opportunities in the narrative, creates objectives that feel natural, and ties them to characters and events you have already encountered. If you help a village under siege, the DM might generate a quest to track down the raiders’ hideout. If you discover an ancient map, a quest to find the treasure may appear. Every quest emerges from the story you are living. The Quest Log
All active and completed quests are tracked in your quest log, accessible from the game sidebar. Each quest entry includes:- Title and description: What the objective is and why it matters.
- Status: Active, completed, or failed.
- Key details: Relevant NPCs, locations, and clues.
Quest Types
- Main story quests: Drive the central narrative arc forward. These are tied to the major conflict of your campaign.
- Side quests: Optional adventures that enrich the world. They often reward unique items or unlock new areas.
- NPC requests: Favors and tasks from characters you meet. Completing them builds trust and strengthens relationships.
How Quests Affect the World
Completing or failing quests has consequences. A rescued village may become a safe haven. An ignored plea for help could lead to destruction you witness later. The AI DM weaves quest outcomes into the ongoing narrative, making your decisions feel meaningful. There is no single correct path. The DM adapts the story to your choices, whether you follow the main quest or wander off on your own adventure.
